Description

Homemade jam with fresh red and wild black raspberries. Makes enough for two 8 oz jars, to be enjoyed immediately or canned for later use. More info on home canning can be found in our Canning 101 post here. If you choose to use right away, this jam should be refrigerated and used within a month or two. Enjoy!

Ingredients
  • 1 cup black raspberries
  • 1/3 cup red raspberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1.5 tablespoons pectin
Instructions
  1. Gently rinse and dry the berries.
  2. Using a fork, potato masher, or similar, place the berries in a single layer on a plate or bowl and mash them up.
  3. In a small to medium saucepan, combine berries and pectin. Bring to a boil on high heat. (This should be a full boil that cannot be stirred down.)
  4. Stir in the sugar. Bring back to a full rolling boil, and stir continuously while cooking for one minute.
  5. Remove from heat. Carefully ladle the jam into jars. Prepare for canning or immediate use, and enjoy!
